Who we are...
In 2018, in response to Glasgow’s shocking child poverty rates, Craig Johnson established Launch Foods, a social enterprise which directly funds free meals for children in Glasgow living in poverty. Initially focused on catering, the business soon expanded with Launch Coffee, a new café in the heart of Glasgow’s business district.
The Launch ethos is simple. We believe in quality, sustainable enterprise with a real social purpose. Our coffees, cakes, melts and catering menus are made with the best ingredients and to the highest standards by our passionate and close-knit team.

Every purchase made at Launch goes back into the community, funding our food truck to feed 300 children a day in some of Glasgow’s most deprived areas.
Our Mission...
The detrimental effects of child poverty are a major cause for concern and have wide-ranging effects in terms of health, social and economic outcomes. Poverty also has a negative impact on physical and mental health and educational and social development.
This becomes a vicious circle, where poor physical and mental health and low educational achievement increase the risk of lower earning capacity and of continued poverty throughout life.
Launch Foods wants to help break that vicious circle! We focus on maximising food surplus by feeding kids in our communities with free hot nutritious food after their school day and during holidays.
Since our inception six years ago, we’ve provided in excess of 750,000 free meals and established ourselves as a well-regarded hospitality and catering business, backed by some of Scotland’s biggest companies.
We don’t believe any child in Scotland should be going hungry in 2024. While can’t solve Scotland’s child poverty problem alone, we want to bring greater attention to this complex issue and give hope and inspiration to young people in need that a brighter future is possible.
